This is The Drugs Don’t Work Anymore — a Sunday morning newsletter

The author:

Alex is a writer. He’s written for Playboy, The New Republic, Air Mail, LitHub, The Daily Beast, MedMen, MTV and Men’s Health. His poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

But what is this all about?

The Drugs Don’t Work Anymore is a Sunday morning newsletter about stuff that helps me get through the Sunday. I like books, being a new dad, some political theories, most things outside, ancient history, the last words of dying monarchs and revolutionaries, the bang of the world ending and just, you know, the way we talk to each other.

Oftentimes, this blog is a commentary on “current affairs” but I’d never be so crass as to phrase it that way. And so I’ll just say that, if nothing else, I hope The Drugs Don’t Work Anymore will entertain and inform you in a way you can’t get anywhere else and that it’ll help get you through Sunday in one piece.

Here are some samples:

A Treatise on Music Mass Hysteria

So You’re Going to the State of the Union

On the Workplaces of Geniuses

Anything else?
